OregonSaves was designed for companies of any size, location, and purpose that has employees in Oregon. Whether you are required to facilitate OregonSaves depends on whether you already have an employer-sponsored retirement plan solution or not.

Thank you for helping your employees save. Since you already have a retirement plan in place, your business will not need to participate in OregonSaves. All you need to do is certify that you offer an employer-sponsored retirement plan. Certification involves a few simple questions and can be done online in just minutes.

That’s why we’re here. Your business will need to facilitate OregonSaves for your employees.

You will play an important, yet limited role in offering OregonSaves to your employees. You will:

  • Provide employee data to the state so they can set up employee accounts
  • Pass along information about OregonSaves to employees
  • Process payroll deductions for participating employee
  • Keep track of employee opt-out and contribution decisions
  • Provide updated employee data

Register your business

If you decide to offer an employer-sponsored retirement plan in the future, you can stop facilitating OregonSaves at that time.

Several months before you are required to register or certify that you are exempt from facilitating the program, you will receive a notification that will allow you to take action. If you confirm your participation in this early response period, you’ll receive information on how to register for the program about 30 days before your registration deadline.

Reminder notifications will be sent before your registration deadline if you have not taken action.

Yes. Required registration dates are 'comply by' dates. Beginning in October 2017, employers may initiate contact with OregonSaves to begin facilitating the program or to certify their exemption. Some restrictions may apply for employers who do not wish to use the OregonSaves website or other forms of electronic submission.
